Preseason Live Thread: Bulls @ Cavs
Good evening CtB!
Welcome back as the Cavs begin their 2024-25 campaign by welcoming the Chicago Bulls to the shores of Lake Erie for both of their preseason debuts. The 2024-25 Cleveland Cavaliers will be looking to establish themselves as a legitimate championship contender, something currently very few people believe about them. In order to do so, someone needs to step up and help Donovan Mitchell: Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen are supposed to be those players. Enter Coach Kenny Atkinson.
What gives hope to this current iteration of the Cavs is the new head coach. With all of the talent, it seems like there’s a lot more room for growth. Atkinson is tasked with taking this team to the next level. What are Atkinson teams known for? Threes and pace. He also cut his teeth as a skill development coach in the NBA. Can Atkinson fix the offense? Can Atkinson turn one or more of DG, Mobley, and JA into All-Stars (again)? Stay tuned…
As for the Bulls, a couple of yours truly’s dearest friends are Bulls fans, and it’s hard not to feel bad for them. They are a team without hope, poorly ran, with a cheapskate owner. But they’ll always have the 90s, so screw them!
What to look for in this game? Watch for the second and third team competitions, also new rookie Jaylon Tyson! Emoni Bates is out due to a surprising knee surgery, get well Emoni!
