Top-125 prospect Salim London becomes second highest-rated commit in UAB history

Class of 2025 four-star guard Salim London has found his college home, committing to UAB on Friday.

London —  the 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard from Hoover High School (AL) and the Georgia Stars Nike EYBL AAU program — chose UAB over other offers like Alabama, Kennesaw State, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

“I chose UAB because they showed the most consistency when recruiting me compared to any other staff,” London told ZAGSBLOG. “They showed me the most love and I had the best relationship with the coaching staff.”

UAB has landed just one four-star prospect since 247Sports started ranking players in 2010: William Lee in 2014. That makes London the second-highest-rated prospect to ever choose the Dragons.

London joins two other commits in the 2025 class: three-star small forward Lance Carr and wing Evan Chatman.

What is UAB getting in London?

“I feel like I have a high IQ,” London said of his skillset. “I’m a combo guard. I can play on the ball, off the ball, and I can shoot. Really I think I’m your overall point guard and I can control the game. I’m smooth and I can control the game.”

Salim’s father is Tarik London, who played for Alabama from 1997-2001. Tarik averaged 2.6 points in 18 minutes per game over his four-year career. London is ranked the No. 124 player in the 2024 class per 247Sports. His favorite NBA players are De’Aaron Fox and Paul George.
