Markle, on the other hand, detailed her first meeting with Prince William and Kate Middleton, which took place at Prince Harry’s home.
"When Will and Kate came over and I had met her for the first time, they came over for dinner. I remember I was in ripped jeans and barefoot. Like I was a hugger, always been a hugger. I didn't realize that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits. I guess I'd start to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside, carried through on the inside. There is a forward-facing way of being and then you close the door and you relax now. But that formality carries over on both sides. And that was surprising to me," she said (via People).
Royal Family Distancing Themselves From Harry & Meghan?By the looks of it, these stories about Prince William and Middleton were already relayed to them by their palace aides. After all, royal author Katie Nicholl previously told that the British clan did not have any plans to watch the documentary.
"So, my understanding is that the royals, certainly the King and the Queen Consort, will not be watching the docuseries. And William and Kate, well, my understanding again, was that they were on the school run today. They weren’t at home when the docuseries aired. It was business as usual, family first, and I don’t believe they will be watching it, no," she said.
Nicholl also claimed that the royal family is keeping their distance from the project.
"I think there’s a sense of weariness and fatigue at hearing this story solely through the mouthpieces of Harry and Megan. Of course, William and Kate, the King and Queen Consort can’t answer back, so I think it’s just a case of, we’re not going to engage. Yes, they’re free to do this if this is the path they choose to take. But we’ll only intervene if there is anything deeply damaging. As with Oprah, the palace only intervened over that damaging race allegation about the color of their unborn son’s skin," she said.

Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted for the first time after the Megxit during the joint walkabout in Windsor following Queen Elizabeth's passing. While the fab four agreed to put on a united front, several sources claimed that the tension between the two duchesses was still noticeable.
Despite the temporary truce, the joint sighting only fueled the rivalry between Markle and Middleton. The former actress is reportedly on a mission to outshine the new Princess of Wales.
"Coming face-to-face last month has further ignited the rivalry between Meghan and Kate, rather than relieving tensions," a source told Closer magazine in its Oct. 19 issue (via IBT).
The unexpected reunion reportedly prompted Markle to be "on an all-out mission to get one up" on Middleton. The anonymous insider likened their alleged rivalry "to a game of chess with Meghan trying to outdo Kate every time she makes a move and intentionally making her own move in a bid to get one-up and undermine her."
"Meghan's always felt like she's been in Kate's shadow and being back in the UK recently, she felt that more than ever, so it reignited her drive to win and come out on top," the source added.
The tipster went on that the Horrible Bosses star has been making subtle "secret messages" to tell her sister-in-law that "she'll never back down."
Why Are Megan Markle And Kate Middleton Feuding?
According to sources, the Duchess of Cambridge hasn't forgiven the Duchess of Sussex for the things she said in her and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey. Markle claimed that the reports about her making Middleton cry were not true because "the reverse happened."
Markle confirmed that there was a misunderstanding between her and Middleton over the bridesmaids' dresses, which included Princess Charlotte, and Prince William's wife "made me cry, and it really hurt my feelings."
Middleton has not addressed the report despite the netizens wanting to hear her side. Prince Harry's sister-in-law has practiced the late Queen's "never complain, never explain" mantra.

However, several body language experts agreed that there was tension between Middleton and Markle during the joint walkabout. They noticed how Middleton took her distance and never even looked at Markle.
"She was being genuine. It was not in her heart to smile at Meghan, so she didn't do it," body analyst Dr. Lillian Glass told Page Six. "Meghan, on the other hand, looked like a sad and desperate puppy as she tried to catch Kate's eye gaze repeatedly. But Kate was having none of it," the analyst added.
Judi James echoed the same sentiment saying Middleton was not keen to perform for the cameras.
"Walking away from Meghan and the car, she went to join the brothers before keeping a wide social space between herself and the others, looking keen to get on with the job rather than perform in any soap opera," James said about Middleton.

Prince Harry 'Incensed' After The Courtiers Allegedly Denied His Request To Have A Meeting With Queen Elizabeth
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were reportedly already planning their future in the monarchy while they were in Canada. Prince Harry wanted to talk about it with the Queen and emailed the palace.
"Harry seemed to be under the impression that they could just sort it out by email before he and Meghan got back to London on January 6, [2020]," an excerpt of The Times' royal correspondent Valentine Low's book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown published in The Times Sunday read. "The reply they got, however, was that this would require a proper family conversation."
However, Prince Harry was told that he couldn't have a meeting with the Queen until Jan. 29. The response reportedly didn't sit well with the Duke of Sussex.

"It fed into the narrative that they were not being taken seriously by the palace machinery, or by the rest of the family," Low continued.
So, Prince Harry tried to set up a meeting with Queen Elizabeth on his own. However, even his personal efforts reportedly failed.
"The message was conveyed to him that the queen had been confused about her diary, and was no longer available," Low continued. "Harry was incensed because it was not true: the courtiers had got in the way, it seemed, because they saw the meeting with the queen as an attempt to pick the queen off before Harry started talks with the rest of the family."
After his request for a meeting with the Queen was denied, Prince William's younger brother was reportedly so frustrated that he wanted to go straight to his grandmother. He reportedly planned to drive straight from the London airport to Sandringham. However, he later dropped the idea realizing that "it was a sign of his frustration that he even contemplated such a move."
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Announced MegxitAfter the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the United Kingdom from Canada, they announced to the public that they were stepping back from their royal duties. The announcement even raised eyebrows as some sources claimed they made the announcement without telling the senior members of the royal family first.
"We have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution," they said in a joint statement released on the Sussex Royal Instagram account. "We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment."
They continued, "We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity."
They concluded their statement, saying they were looking forward to collaborating with the late Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William, and all relevant parties.
"Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through," Buckingham Palace responded.
