Three-star point guard Micah Tucker transfers to Overtime Elite, updates recruitment

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Micah Tucker, a three-star point guard from West Virginia and the Boo Williams Nike EYBL AAU program, will transfer to Overtime Elite. The program announced the move via social media on Thursday.

Tucker — the 6-foot-3, 170-pound guard — is coming off an impressive showing at Peach Jam. He averaged 12.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 24.8 minutes per contest. Tucker also shot 48% from the field.
His best game of the tournament came against the eventual champions of Peach Jam, Nightrydas Elite. In that game, Tucker scored 18 points and dished out seven assists. He also physically dominated five-star Cayden Boozer for most of the game. Boo Williams eventually fell 73-66.

“I’m a strong point guard,” Tucker said of his game. “Do it all type. Two-way player. And I just try to run the game for my team every time I’m out there. Just try to play as hard as I can, try to play smart. I just feel like I do a little bit of everything when most point guards, they focus on just scoring or just passing. I feel like I tap into pretty much everything.”
As for his recruitment, Tucker has offers from schools like Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida, Mississippi State, UCF and West Virginia. He took an official visit to West Virginia last season with the old staff, but that’s the only visit he’s taken so far. Tucker will look to set some up for this fall.
Tucker breaks down some of his offers below:
Auburn: “Fast-paced offense. Spread out. I just feel like it’s the type of basketball that I play. I just feel like it fits my game.” Assistant coach Ira Bowman is who he’s hearing from.
Cincinnati: “I talked to coach [Chad] Dollar. He’s seen me play a couple times and he just likes the way I play. So he offered me a scholarship.”
Florida: “Just another SEC team. I feel like I would be a good SEC player. Just another team that fits my playstyle I feel like.” Hearing from assistant coach Korey McCray.
Mississippi State: “Same thing, just playstyle. And I like their jersey’s too. But I feel like that’s why I like them.” Head coach Chris Jans main coach in contact.
UCF: “I talked to coach Johnny Dawkins at UCF. I went to one of their team camps and I got a scholarship there after I played. I also like how they play, like the location.”
WVU: “It was a really good visit. I got to meet the players on the team, got to talk to the coaches. They showed me around the campus and I went to one of the basketball games. It turned out to actually be a really good game against Texas Tech. Got to see RaeQuan Battle do pretty good. It was just a good overall experience being on campus. I haven’t heard from the new staff there. But I’m open to everything.”
Tucker is ranked the No. 40 overall point guard in the 2025 class and the No. 2 player in the state of West Virginia, giving him three-star status. His favorite NBA player is Anthony Edwards.
There’s another hooper in the Tucker family. Micah’s older brother, Wallace Tucker, played at Colby College. He averaged 10+ points per game each season. A fun fact about the family is they love to play Monopoly together. Wallace claims Micah cheats and has the paper money hiding around the house. Micah didn’t exactly deny this.
“Do anything to win,” Micah said.
