Quinn Cook’s Next Move

0 17
College Basketball: NCAA Final Four: Duke Quinn Cook (2) victorious, cutting down net on court after winning championship game vs Wisconsin at Lucas Oil Stadium. Indianapolis,  | Set Number: X159490 TK1

An interesting move for Cook and his family

When you look at the most beloved Blue Devils, it’s a long list and it goes back a long ways. Art Heyman was a cult figure in his day. Mike Gminski was adored in Durham. Johnny Dawkins was widely admired.

More recently we’ve seen people like Shane Battier, Jason Williams and Nolan Smith emerge as fan favorites and, of course, Quinn Cook.

Cook, a graduate of legendary DeMatha High, was part of the 2015 national championship team at Duke and after that, he won rings with Golden State and Los Angeles.

He is a marginal NBA player but obviously a winner and widely respected.

And that goes for at home too. A native of the DMV, Cook has always liked to give back. And drawing on his parent’s experience owning a sports bar, he’s going to open his own.

It’s going to be called 4th Quarter Sports Bar and it will open in Bowie, Maryland, in January.

His mother and sister will help run it while his playing career continues.

We hope it thrives and is everything Cook wants it to be, and his future is his own and his alone, but we’ll say it again: he has an incredibly bright future in coaching if he wants it.

We hope he goes there because we think he will be great.
