LeBron James named Paris Olympics MVP
When the greatest basketball players on the planet gathered to compete at the Paris Olympics, LeBron James was the best of the best.
Team USA won the gold medal, beating France 98-87 in Paris. The victory gave the Americans their fifth consecutive gold medal and LeBron James his third and final gold medal of his career.
It wasn't easy beating Les Blues in their home country, but Steph Curry put the French to bed thanks to his four 3-pointers in the final frame.
LeBron also helped lead the charge, flirting with a triple-double and ending the match with 14 points, ten assists, and six rebounds.
The dominance the King displayed throughout the tournament is the main reason why he was named the official MVP of the Paris Olympics.

On the global stage and on one of the best teams ever assembled, it was clear LeBron is still the crème de la crème.
LeBron led Team USA in rebounds, assists and efficiency and came in second in scoring, behind only Curry. He ended the tournament averaging 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists.
The gold medal and Olympics MVP weren't the only accolades LeBron accomplished in Paris.
He was also named to the All-Star Five along with his USA teammate Curry, Dennis Schroder of Germany, Nikola Jokic from Serbia and Victor Wembanyama of France.

With over two decades of professional basketball on his resume, you'd think there were no other achievements left for the King, but he has scratched another one off his list by earning this MVP award.
If you've never heard of the Olympics MVP award before, it doesn't mean you are a casual.
The Olympics implemented this award at the 2020 Tokyo Games, where Kevin Durant won it while representing Team USA. They also gave out the award once before at the 2004 Olympics, where Manu Ginobili won it for Argentina.
USA fans will remember that tournament as the bronze medal year that catapulted the "Redeem Team" and the current string of dominance the Americans are experiencing on this global stage.
Now, the King rests at the top of his throne with the Olympics MVP award in hand and the gold medal around his neck.
Not a bad summer for the 39-year-old.
