Can we just get started now?

Over at CBS, David Cobb takes a stab at Duke’s starting lineup. His prediction:

Tyrese Proctor, Caleb Foster, Cooper Flagg, Khaman Maluach and Maliq Brown.

We’ll get more into this soon, but we’re not sure that’s locked in.

For one thing, we could see Sion James starting if either Foster or Proctor struggles. The nice thing there is that coach Jon Scheyer has three point guards to work with and they’re all big. That’s a real luxury. If you’re a coach, it’s not a bad problem to have.

We could also imagine Brown starting in the post and someone else - say Kon Knueppel - moving into the starting lineup.

We’d expect Maluach to start, but can you imagine bringing him off the bench? That would be amazing.

Cobb sees James, Isaiah Evans, Mason Gillis and Kon Knueppel as the primary depth with Patrick Ngongba, Darren Harris and Cameron Sheffield as the deep bench.

We’ll see soon, but the summer buzz out of Duke suggests that Knueppel is much better than anyone thought and that might scramble everyone’s expectations.
