Brilliant quarter for RJ Barrett and Lu Dort. Barrett scored 13 of his 20 points in the 3rd. Dort had 5 of his 11 and held Giddey (who had 15 points in the 1st half) to 3.

Good news for Raptors fans: RJ Barrett isn’t just getting the line, he’s hitting his free throws. He’s 4-for-4 today after going 6-for-6 in the opener and 15-for-20 over the final 2 exhibition games. He was a 63% free-throw shooter with Toronto last season. – 8:42 AM

More on this storyline

Josh Lewenberg: RJ Barrett (23 points) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (21) are the 3rd Canadian duo to score more than 20 points apiece in their Olympic debuts. The last to do it? Rowan Barrett (21 points) and Michael Meeks (27) vs Australia in 2000. -via Twitter @JLew1050 / July 27, 2024
It was ugly but when all was said and done, Canada got what they deserved after leading from wire to wire. Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 34 points the final score was 86-79 for the North Americans over Greece. RJ Barrett tallied a team-high 23 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put in 21 points, seven assists, and five rebounds for the team coached by Jordi Fernandez. Dillon Brooks followed with 14 points, despite fouling out with three minutes left in the Gameday 1 contest of the preliminary round of the 2024 Olympic Games. -via EuroHoops.net / July 27, 2024
