Now that he’s no longer on the Clippers, Paul George is revealing all his thoughts on the franchise and living in Los Angeles over the last five years.

Do you guys remember when Paul George had a whole documentary series about his free agency in 2019? Remember how all the signs pointed to him signing with the Lakers, especially after they were reportedly the team he wanted to be traded to?

Remember how so much of the documentary was about growing up in Los Angeles? How he was a Kobe Bryant fan? Remember how everyone assumed this would end with him coming home to LA? Remember how he then ended the series by re-signing with the Thunder and not joining LeBron James? And then worked out a trade to the Clippers a year later?

Well, you’ll be shocked to learn that didn’t exactly endear him to Lakers fans!

Paul George has long been someone who will say whatever pleases the people in front of him. If that means contradicting himself along the way, so be it. And considering he spent a half-decade playing on the cross-town rival of the Lakers, he said lots of contradictory things.

Lakers fans, though, aren’t ones to forget. And so, when PG talked on his recent podcast about playing in Los Angeles and not receiving the Lakers love as a member of the “B team” — his words, not mine — Lakers fans had one unilateral reaction:

Duh!

Hey man, it’s not like you spent your time in Los Angeles talking about how much more winning a title with the Clippers would mean after growing up a Lakers fan. Because if you had, that might explain why you weren’t getting that Lakers love.

If only there were a way for PG to join the Lakers. Wouldn’t it have been cool if he got some Lakers love then?

Oh well. I guess we’ll never know.
