Talented Duke friends reunited in L.A.

JJ Redick overlapped with Lindsay Harding at Duke, with Harding finishing one year after Redick did in 2007.

Both earned considerable respect and credibility after leaving Duke. Redick became a solid NBA player despite doubts that he could stick, building a 15-year career. He moved into media and then in late June was named the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

For her part, Harding spent a decade in the WNBA and one year in Belarus before moving into coaching in 2019 with the Sacramento Kings and their G-League team in Stockton.

Now she’s working for Redick, who hired her as an assistant coach with L.A. on Tuesday.

Life has some interesting twists and, occasionally, you get to reconnect with some people you liked along the way. It’ll be fun to see how these two do in the City of Angels.
