Vlatko Cancar on future with Denver: My goal is to be back

0 9
With five years of service, Vlatko Cancar can expect to make just over $2.4 million on a veteran minimum salary in 2024 — about $100k more than what he would have made if the Nuggets picked up his team option, which they declined a few days ago . “I’m still waiting on their decision,” the NBA champion said. “We’ll see. Yes, for sure [it’s a scenario that I’ll be back.] My goal is to be back and, hopefully, there’s room.”

More on this storyline

Even though Cancar assured that he “for sure” would consider playing in Europe again in the future, he also denied that it was Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens that approached him. “No, no, I don’t know,” he hesitantly replied with a smile. “There’s all sorts of rumors, but I haven’t heard anything. For now, I still want to prove myself in the NBA and get my real chance there,” he pointed out. If Cancar were ever to come back to the Old Continent, he’d have no specific preferences. “My dream as a kid has always been to play in the EuroLeague,” he confessed. “It doesn’t matter which team it will be.” -via BasketNews / July 4, 2024
In Slovenia’s previous game, a heavy loss to Croatia, Cancar had scored 12 points. However, he’s still trying to get his shooting groove back. “It feels good, but I’ve been playing like shit,” he admitted talking to BasketNews in the mixed zone. “This has got to change. I feel good, but I guess I’m taking my shots too emotionally. I want to see one go in. But physically I’m feeling fine and I have no fear,” he added. -via BasketNews / July 4, 2024
