SAY IT AIN’T SO KILLA KLAY!

Klay Thompson may be on the verge of leaving the Golden State Warriors barring some miracle. This is devastating news for a fanbase that watched Klay grow up in the Bay to become a champion, All-Star, and future Hall-of-Famer.

But if he does leave, where would he go? And how terrifying would it be to see him in an enemy uniform raining fire down on the Dubs?

The Golden State Warriors have a long history of departed players coming back to haunt them. Just take a look at a guy like Chris Webber, drafted by the Dubs in 1993 before a falling out sent him to different pastures. Per Stat Muse C-Webb averaged 22.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 29 games versus the Warriors in his career. That included this 40-point, 10-rebound, 10-assist domination he put on them as a Washington Bullet.

Then there’s former Dub Mitch Richmond, a star during the Run-TMC days, who came back to haunt the Dubs as a Sacramento King. He averaged 21.7 points, 4.1 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 35 games versus Golden State in his career. Who can forget this killer bankshot he hit from three-point range at the buzzer to sink the Warriors?

And who can forget about Gilbert Arenas, a Golden State pick who won the Most Improved Award as a Warrior before getting a huge contract with the Washington Wizards and becoming the assassin Agent Zero. He averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 12 games versus the Dubs over his career. That includes this 45-point explosion he uncorked in 2009 in Oracle Arena:

Will Klay eventually join these former Dubs-turned-Warrior killers? We can only hope this won’t come to pass.
