During the same week in which it saw four players from its NCAA championship team chosen in the NBA Draft, UConn hosted five-star guard Darius Adams on an unofficial visit.

The UConn staff is very high on the New Jersey native, who is ranked the No. 4 shooting guard in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports.com. He runs with the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL circuit and plays at La Lumiere (IN).

“go huskies #notcommitted,” he posted on Instagram.

As for how having two lottery picks this year could help recruiting with players like Meleek Thomas and Acaden Lewis, who already visited, and Adams, Huskies coach Dan Hurley knows it won’t hurt.

“It does, it does, and that’s the tricky thing for us, is you don’t want that to have a negative effect in terms of you start then taking players that don’t fit you the same way,” Hurley said Wednesday night at the Draft. “You’ve got greater access and there’s a lot more excitement on the other end of text messages and phone calls, but we’ve gotta get the people that are right for us.”

Adams is coveted for his three-way scoring ability and proves each game that he has next-level shot-creation, whether it be on the inside or behind the arc.

He’s taken unofficial visits to Tennessee, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Indiana, with Michigan also in the mix.

In January he broke down several schools for ZAGSBLOG:

Michigan State: “One coach I would say impressed me a lot was Michigan State. He [Tom Izzo] because when we were at the football game he sat next to me and talked to me the whole time so that really meant something to me.”

Tennessee: “I’m hoping to see a game, see their playstyle and see if I can fit in.

Alabama: “I’ve been texting with them. I do want to get down there sooner rather than later. But, after the season.”

Indiana: “It was a really good experience just talking to [Mike] Woodson and watching the football game. It was Indiana vs. Ohio State so it was a pretty cool game.”
