The Toronto Raptors other big free agent has dropped today as Quickley agrees to extension with Toronto.

Another big Toronto Raptors free agent has resigned with the team. Immanuel Quickley has agreed to a five-year, $175 million dollar deal to return to the Toronto Raptors this morning, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Quickley has now established himself as a key part of the Raptors future, joining Scottie Barnes after Barnes secured his own five-year deal earlier this week.

Immanuel Quickley arrived to the Raptors in January as part of the Anunoby trade from the New York Knicks. After primarily being a back up point-guard option for the Knicks, IQ effortlessly transitioned to his role as a starting point guard.

He averaged 18.6 points and 6.8 assists per game after coming to Toronto, shooting 42.2% from the field and 39.5% form three point range.

Toronto now has Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, and RJ Barrett secured for the 2024-25 season, and Barrett is contracted until 2027. The core of the future Raptors is secure for now, and the Raptors will now dip into the free agency market for other rotation players.

The two biggest names circulating for the Raptors now? Bruce Brown’s team option expires tonight (Friday) at midnight, and Gary Trent Jr. is set to become a free agent as well. The Raptors front office did not confirm the plan about either of these players after the NBA Draft.

For now, rest assured that the BBQ core is here to stay.
