What’s the buzz on Twitter?

Carl Steward @stewardsfolly
Don’t get the Warriors rumors regarding Paul George, especially at a four-year max. He’s 34, three months younger than Klay, and like Klay, not quite the player he was before a serious leg injury. Also further muddies Kuminga/Wiggins situation. – 1:07 PM

DeMar DeRozan is a potential Paul George replacement for the Clippers via sign-and-trade, if he indeed decides to leave Los Angeles, per @KCJHoop.
With the Bulls preparing for a possible rebuild, DeRozan could make his exit this offseason for a true title contender. pic.twitter.com/4tMXhAb40L12:57 PM

If I’m the Clippers right now I’d probably be angling to trade Paul George to Houston for those Suns picks if KD is off the table. That feels like a rare opportunity to take advantage of a team that seems desperate (when they shouldn’t be!) for some high-upside rebuilding assets. – 9:40 AM

“I didn’t think that was in the realm of possibility. … If I had known this had an actual shot of getting done I would’ve long said you go Bridges as opposed to a guy like Paul George.” 😯

Good morning! It’s time for my BORD$ values on all the free agent small forwards, including Paul George and Klay Thompson

Dave Early @DavidEarly
So the #Knicks landed Mikal Bridges… that’s bad for the #Sixers. More bad? Insiders think NYK still re-signs OG Anunoby.
But the Knicks should now likely be out of the Paul George sweepstakes, that could be good news.
Oh and maybe Kevin Durant could be on the move, or so the – 10:52 PM

Biggest offseason question for every NBA team in West: Warriors say bye to Klay? What happens to Paul George?

Pencils down. Draft starts tomorrow.
How do we think the offseason will play out? We’ll be giving our best guesses, going over everything from where Paul George lands, to what the Sixers do in the draft, to who they sign and more.

Paul George is still the platonic ideal of an NBA wing. I wrote about the player and the prototype, and the offseason market revolving around him: theringer.com/nba/2024/6/25/…12:32 PM

Paul George makes sense for any team, but at this stage in his career, not every roster makes the most sense for him.

More on this storyline

NBA Central: The Golden State Warriors are prepared to trade for Paul George and offer him a full four-year max contract, per @WindhorstESPN “He wants a full out max and there are a number of teams out there, I am told, that are prepared to give it to him, who are prepared to trade for him. pic.twitter.com/J1EHYGfqDo -via Twitter @TheNBACentral / June 26, 2024
George is believed to prefer to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, but he is seeking a four-year deal they are apparently reluctant to offer. George is a native of Palmdale, California outside of Los Angeles and may want to stay closer to home even if he leaves the Clippers. “I’m not so sure Paul George really wanted to leave the West Coast,” said Brian Windhorst on the Hoop Collective Podcast on Wednesday morning. “I think that was something Philadelphia kind of ran into when they kicked the tires there.” -via RealGM / June 26, 2024
