Paul George doesn't want to leave West Coast?

0 4
George is believed to prefer to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, but he is seeking a four-year deal they are apparently reluctant to offer. George is a native of Palmdale, California outside of Los Angeles and may want to stay closer to home even if he leaves the Clippers. “I’m not so sure Paul George really wanted to leave the West Coast,” said Brian Windhorst on the Hoop Collective Podcast on Wednesday morning. “I think that was something Philadelphia kind of ran into when they kicked the tires there.”

“I didn’t think that was in the realm of possibility. … If I had known this had an actual shot of getting done I would’ve long said you go Bridges as opposed to a guy like Paul George.” 😯

Good morning! It’s time for my BORD$ values on all the free agent small forwards, including Paul George and Klay Thompson

So the #Knicks landed Mikal Bridges… that’s bad for the #Sixers. More bad? Insiders think NYK still re-signs OG Anunoby.
But the Knicks should now likely be out of the Paul George sweepstakes, that could be good news.
Oh and maybe Kevin Durant could be on the move, or so the – 10:52 PM

Paul George is still the platonic ideal of an NBA wing. I wrote about the player and the prototype, and the offseason market revolving around him: theringer.com/nba/2024/6/25/…12:32 PM

Paul George makes sense for any team, but at this stage in his career, not every roster makes the most sense for him.

More on this storyline

Among the key elements regarding Paul George’s future with the Clippers or elsewhere: League sources say that the 34-year-old continues to seek a new four-year contract. Returning to the Clippers has long been regarded as George’s preferred scenario, but L.A. is believed to this point to be offering a shorter deal along the lines of what it struck with Kawhi Leonard. -via marcstein.substack.com / June 25, 2024
The five-time All-Star said he wants to return to the NBA next season, saying he does not care if he has to take on a bench role to make it happen. “I know how much the game means to me. How much I wanna get back to the game,” Wall told Paul George on Podcast P with paul George Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment. “I’ve been an All-Star, I’ve been a franchise player before. It’s been a tough journey trying to get back there. The most important thing for me is just trying to stay healthy. “I know a lot of these teams have a lot of young guys on the team. They don’t have a lot of vets. I think you need those vets in the locker room. That’s what teams are missing. I’m willing to accept any role it is to be on a team. If it’s playing, not playing, being in the Udonis Halsem role. Anything like that. I just wanna be in an NBA jersey again because I know how much the game means to me, how much I still have left. If it’s helping the team playing, if it’s helping the team trying to be a coach or be a mentor, I’m willing to accept that.” -via Bleacher Report / June 24, 2024
