I hated seeing Tony Parker in a Hornets jersey. I think seeing Klay play for Orlando or maybe another good cap space team (OKC/Philly) would be slightly more palatable, it just sucks to see guys who made dynasties possible get nickel-and-dimed by franchises they helped build. – 6:27 PM

There have been no productive discussions between Klay Thompson and the Warriors on a new deal before free agency, per @anthonyVslater (nytimes.com/athletic/55835…).
It’s becoming increasingly likely Thompson leaves Golden State regardless due to built-up friction. pic.twitter.com/yj0s0zNPl82:18 PM

Anthony Slater @anthonyVslater
Talks between Klay Thompson and the Warriors are essentially frozen, per sources. There has been no offer made. It’s more probable than ever he may leave the only franchise he’s known, regardless of his market.

More on this storyline

Dalton Johnson: Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy on Klay Thompson: “We’re hopeful, but we’ll see. We got to figure things out.” Dunleavy says it would be impossible to fully take out the emotion of Klay negotiations, but the the NBA “is a business.” -via Twitter @DaltonJ_Johnson / June 24, 2024
The Warriors have outwardly maintained their desire to bring Thompson back at the right price and in the right role, per league sources, but have viewed his situation as business to sort through after various other roster-building avenues have been explored. They’ve been actively searching for paths to larger-scale upgrades, using Chris Paul’s non-guaranteed $30 million contract as a flexible tool. There’s been talk with Paul about possibly pushing that guarantee date back from June 28 into July, if necessary, per league sources, which would only be telling Thompson to wait longer. -via New York Times / June 22, 2024
