As the NBA Draft nears, the Lakers are reportedly doing individual workouts and Bronny James has been able to showcase his skills for the franchise.

The offseason has been anything but slow for the Lakers.

They've had an ongoing head coaching search for weeks now and have the NBA Draft happening this month.

This franchise has consistently done well in drafting over the past few years, selecting players such as Max Christe and Brandon Ingram and picking up undrafted talent like Alex Caruso and Austin Reaves.

The drafting process involves many aspects, including film work, interviews, the NBA Draft Combine and pre-draft workouts.

Dan Woike of the LA Times has reported that Bronny James is among the players the Lakers are having pre-draft workouts with.

James worked out for the Lakers on Thursday, according to people with knowledge of the situation not authorized to speak publicly.

James’ athleticism, defensive potential and shooting at the Chicago draft combine have certainly interested the Lakers, who could help make history by pairing him with his father, LeBron James, should he return to the team in free agency this summer (if he opts out, as expected).

Bronny has been connected to the Lakers throughout this process, participating in Klutch Sports Pro Day at the Lakers' practice facility, meeting with the team during the NBA Combine and now this pre-draft workout.

If the Lakers want to draft Bronny, he'll need a guaranteed spot on the roster, as his agent, Rich Paul, has claimed Bronny will not sign a two-way contract.

The Lakers could make that happen by drafting him at No. 17 or No. 55 in this year's draft.

It is not expected that the Lakers would draft LeBron James' son with their first round pick, but they can still do so in the second round and even potentially move up to get a deal done.

It's looking more and more each day like Bronny will be a Laker.

The fans are for it, the team is looking at him and while LeBron James has said that playing with his son is "no longer a priority," it's undoubtedly a wonderful incentive for him to stay in Los Angeles.

However, from the Lakers' perspective, the number one thing is to draft players they think can help this team win. If Bronny can do that, you draft him. If not, you wish him luck and shake his hand.

These types of workouts should help the Lakers decide if Bronny is the former or the latter.
