The Lakers are expected to hold a workout with Bronny James ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft.

Now that the NBA Draft Combine is complete, teams are working out individual players privately to assess who they might consider drafting.

The Lakers have reportedly met with Bronny James and as Shams Charania and Doug Haller of The Athletic reported, the organization is expected to conduct a workout with the former USC Trojan as the draft draws closer.

Phoenix has the No. 22 pick and James is among several players in consideration. James has over 10 workout invitations but is expected to only visit a few teams, including the Suns and Los Angeles Lakers. The NBA Draft takes place June 26-27.

The Lakers have undoubtedly seen a lot of Bronny recently between the NBA Draft Combine, Klutch Sports Pro Day at the Lakers practice facility and a potential upcoming draft workout.

With Los Angeles holding the No. 17 and No. 55 pick, they will likely have an opportunity to draft Bronny, so doing their due diligence and accessing him this much is part of the process.

Bronny's USC stats aren't anything that will impress you. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, but it's important to note that he missed a lot of time at the beginning of the year due to the cardiac arrest he suffered in the summer.

How good of a prospect Bronny is has been debated for years, but ideally, he's a 3-and-D player who can grow into a solid rotation player in the league.

Also, while LeBron has made it clear that playing with Bronny is "no longer a priority," it can't hurt the Lakers' chances of getting James to opt into his contract or staying with the team by signing a new deal if his son gets drafted here.

Lakers fans also want the team to draft Bronny, so there's a lot of momentum going his way.

Still, other teams are interested in his services, so the Lakers will have competition. Drafting him at the No. 17 pick seems too high, but he's unlikely to fall to them at 55. It'll be interesting to see if the Lakers can execute a trade and move up to select him or hope he falls to them in the second round.
