INDIANAPOLIS — Four-star Jalen Reece describes himself as a floor general, and he sure backed that up with his play at EYBL Session 3. The 5-foot-10, 155-pound guard from Oak Ridge High School (FL) and the Florida Rebels Nike EYBL AAU program, averaged 9.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists to lead the Rebels to a 3-1 record.

And he turned the ball over just one time in 98 minutes while acting as the primary ball handler.

“I like to get my teammates open and let everyone succeed, everybody eat,” Reece said. “I can also get a bucket when I need to. I’m a true point guard.”

While in Indianapolis, Reece updated his recruitment in an exclusive interview with ZAGSBLOG.com. Reece said he’s been hearing from Providence, Cincinnati and Michigan the most. Here is his breakdown of each school:

Providence: “They have a great environment. Coach is always calling me, texting me after every game, every day. Just making sure I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing. Jamier [Jones] is recruiting me to come there.”

Cincinnati: “That’s just like my second home. My family is from there. The coaches talk to me every week. They get to know me, follow up and everything.

Michigan: “Michigan just reached out to me. Coach Dusty May, he had offered me at FAU. He just reoffered me to Michigan. So it’s like, he’s always been there. He always been at our practices for high school, so he was always there. He’s always communicated with me.”

May was in to see Reece in Indianapolis. Cincinnati and Providence also had representation during Session 3.

Jones, who is recruiting Reece to Providence, is Reece’s AAU and high school teammate.

Reece has taken unofficial visits to Ohio State, Cincinnati, Providence and LSU, but no officials yet. He plans on doing some but isn’t sure when or where yet.

Reece is ranked the No. 76 overall prospect in the class of 2025 by 247Sports and the No. 12-rated point guard. His favorite NBA player is LeBron James, and a fun fact about Reece is that he likes to bowl. His best score is around 200.
