Meet College Football 25 video game cover stars for first time with real players

0 4

EA Sports’ College Football 25 is around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Another major step has been taken towards the official release of EA Sports College Football 25. In the PlayStation store, the banner for the game includes the cover for the deluxe edition. As Extra Points writer Matt Brown has reported, the cover will have current players on it who each play a different position in a different power conference. With a tentative July 19 release date, the game has now come with the deluxe edition cover, with multiple players with actual names being listed.

Here’s the first look at the cover for the Deluxe Edition:

Due to the massive changes in players being compensated for their Name, Image and Likeness being used in the game, cover athletes will now be introduced into the game. While every player who opted in gets a $600 payout from EA along with a copy of the game, the cover athletes get a little bit more.

College NIL lawyer Darren Heitner says that the cover athletes made more for being on the cover.

Here are the athletes that made the cover for the deluxe EA College Football 25 edition of the game, starting in the center and moving from left to right:

  • Donovan Edwards, RB, Michigan: As one of the offensive leaders from the defending national champions, Edwards gets the forefront of the cover. He had a down year behind RB Blake Corum, only posting five touchdowns, but as the lead back for Michigan he should get the lions’ share of carries.
  • Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas: Ewers is the signal caller for what was Texas’ best team in a long time. Despite missing a few games due to injury, Ewers posted 22 touchdowns to only six interceptions. As Texas makes their move to the SEC, the Longhorns need Ewers to continue his improvement in a stronger conference.
  • Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama: Milroe is one of the most explosive running QBs in the country. In his first year as a starter for Alabama, he ran for 12 touchdowns, threw for 23 more, and was named a Heisman finalist. Nick Saban is gone as Alabama starts the new year, but the Tide can still be successful with a big-time playmaker like Milroe at QB.
  • Carson Beck, QB, Georgia: After a breakout year with the Bulldogs, Beck is back under center and could possibly be the best QB in the entire country. In his first year as a starter, Beck threw 24 touchdowns and almost 4,000 yards. With a lot of offensive production now away from Athens, the Bulldogs are going to need the best out of Beck, who can cement his case as the nation’s top QB.
  • Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State: Judkins transferred to Ohio State after two stellar seasons with Ole Miss. Judkins went over 1,000 yards in each season in Oxford and ran for 31 combined touchdowns. He takes his agility and smooth running style to Columbus, where the Buckeyes have a loaded roster to gear up for a deep CFP run.
  • Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado: The most dynamic player in college football, Hunter is a two way star in Boulder. As a corner, Hunter had five pass deflections and intercepted three passes, while also catching 57 passes for 721 yards and five touchdowns on offense. Expect a lot of people to user Hunter when the game comes out—that’s how fun he is.

In addition to the cover releasing, EA has a countdown timer set to go off on May 16, seemingly hyping up more news and possibly a gameplay trailer on that day.

The moment this game releases, I’m calling out of work. I’m canceling all my appointments, and most people will not see me for at least a week. The game that gave us Dynasty and Road to Glory will be coming back, and as long as they bring those back with them, I’m cool with it.
