If Lakers HC Darvin Ham is fired, that could add a new wrinkle into Charlotte’s coaching search.

Don’t know Darvin Ham. Never met him. But the dragging he’s getting indicates some believe the Lakers had a comparable roster. That ‘coaching’ was the diff. Like Max Christie woulda . . . Nvm

More on this storyline

“The latest I’ve heard is the plan is still to move on from Darvin Ham at some point, likely by the end of the week, potentially as early as tomorrow, then the head coaching search will start. I’ve already started to hear some names from different people.” -via Apple Podcasts / May 2, 2024
“I think there’s a lot of uncertainty coming out of that organization,” Green said on The Draymond Green Show. What’s going to happen with Darvin Ham? Me personally, I think it’ll wrong to fire him for multiple reasons. “However, he’ll catch a lot of flack for the season that they had. But their roster didn’t get better than last year and they were a play-in team. Yeah, they made it to the Conference Finals with LeBron James and Anthony Davis playing the way that they were playing, but they didn’t get better. “They lost Dennis Schroder. I don’t think they replaced him well. Gabe Vincent didn’t bring anything to the season. Obviously he was hurt. But even once he got in, he didn’t shoot the ball well. Schroder was huge for them and they lost him… -via TalkBasket / May 2, 2024
The four-time NBA champion has until June 29 to opt in. Despite the contractual uncertainty, the overall view is that James will opt out and re-sign with the Lakers. Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green holds a similar view. While admitting that LeBron’s decision is not known, Green expects him to remain a Laker. “I don’t quite see him leaving L.A. Just don’t really see it. Just my opinion. But we shall see what happens with that,” Green said on The Draymond Green Show. -via TalkBasket / May 2, 2024
