Syracuse landed a pledge Tuesday from Delaware transfer forward Jyare Davis.

The 6-foot-7, 215-pound Davis started all 63 games at Delaware over the last two seasons. He averaged 17.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 steals in 33 minutes per game last year while shooting 46.6% from the floor.

“I think it’s the perfect blend of things that I wanted when I entered the portal,” Davis, who visited Syracuse last weekend, told 247Sports.com. “There are a lot of guys that enter the portal to chase money and all of that but I wanted to chase a bigger stage, an opportunity to continue prove myself as a basketball player and all of those things were provided by coach Red at Syracuse.”

As for what he’ll bring to Syracuse, he said: “Moreso than just any jumpshot that I make or any rebound, I think Syracuse is going to get someone that wants to win day in and day out. I want to help get Syracuse back to the legendary tradition that it has,” he said.

Syracuse previously landed Colorado transfer big man Eddie Lampkin.

In the backcourt, Syracuse is expected to have both JJ Starling and Chance Westry back with Cardinal Hayes scoring guard Elijah Moore coming in.

The Orange also lost several players to the portal in Maliq Brown, Quadir Copeland, Justin Taylor (James Madison), and Peter Carey (Siena).
