Boogie Fland ‘back to square one’ after reopening recruitment

By CHARLIE PARENT

Boogie Fland, the five-star senior and former Kentucky commit, is ‘back to square one’ after reopening his recruitment following the departure of John Calipari, he told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.

ESPN reported that the 6-foot-3 point guard out of Archbishop Stepinac (NY.) has heard from Louisville, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, Pittsburgh, St. John’s, Illinois, Providence and Seton Hall. New Kentucky head coach Mark Pope has reached out as well.

Fland originally chose Kentucky over Indiana, Alabama, UNC and Michigan, among several others. Indiana was the presumable second choice.

He recently helped Team USA defeat Team World at last weekend’s Nike Hoop Summit, posting 9 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
