Speaking to reporters following their second straight win against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, Irving opened up about his career so far and his aspirations. The Mavs guard highlighted his desire to be remembered and acknowledged as one of the best to ever do it before adding how delighted he is to paly with another legendary player in Doncic. “I made a decision that I wanted to be one of the greatest to ever play this game. Its been almost two months since someone went for 50+ in @nba since the officiating loosened up. Good to see Jalen Brunson showing the gargantuan night is not extinct. But for context Brunson took 47 shots to make his 25 FG. In his 73 pt game Luka Doncic took 33 FGA for his 25 FG – 9:19 AM

Mavs win in Sacramento for many reasons. Ability to respond to runs, good defense, clutch execution and of course the LuKai backcourt. Kyrie a team high 30 points and Luka had 26 points & 12 assists. I asked Doncic if he thought about the fact that his first game with Irving last February was here — and how far they and the Mavericks have come since that 133-128 OT loss. It was a painful Friday night for the Sacramento Kings. In the first half of their consequential 107-103 home loss to the Dallas Mavericks, Luka Dončić tumbled after a drive and fell onto the right knee of Malik Monk. Monk left the game and didn’t return. It is feared he suffered a sprained MCL, league sources told The Athletic. -via The Athletic / March 30, 2024
