Loyola University Chicago Game Thoughts

0 14
Loyola Chicago is 20-8 overall and 12-3 in conference, A10. I don't see any significant wins.

Here is what I learned with a little research:

This game between Dayton and Loyola Chicago will be played in Chicago at the Gentile arena (Joseph J. Gentile Arena). The arena is referred to as "The Joe". The seating capacity is 4,963. The arena was built in 1996 and renovated in 2011 as a part of the university's lakeshore campus. Joe Gentile was a car dealer in Chicago who was a major donor to the university. In 2011, the Norville Center was opened, adjacent to the Gentile arena. Alfie and Allan Norville were the primary donors for the complex. Allan was a basketball player at Loyola and real estate developer in Tucson Arizona. Alfie had several interests included a jewelry exchange based in Tucson Arizona.

The head coach is Carlton Andrew Valentine. Mr. Valentine is in his 3rd year at Loyola. Mr. Valentine was a player at Oakland. He did not play professional basketball but instead became a grad assistant at Michigan State and then an assistant at Oakland and Loyola before assuming the head coaching position at Loyola.

Des Watson is a former player at Davidson.

Based upon research of the last couple games, Loyola is playing 7 players approximately 10 minutes or more per game. These players are: Philip Alston 6'6" 235 SR, Braden Norris 6'0" GR, Des Watson 6'5" JR, Sheldon Edwards 6'4" SR, Jayden Dawson 6'4" SO, Dane Adelekun 6'8" 230 GR and Jalen Quinn 6'3" SO. Also, on the roster are: Miles Rubin 6'10" and Tom Welch 6'8".
