Golden State basketball is on the way! Come join our game thread and chat about tonight’s matchup here.

The Golden State Warriors begin a three-game road trip with Friday night’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The game will be played at 5:00 PM PT in Oklahoma City and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.

Previously with the Warriors:

On Wednesday, the Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers, 110-106. Although they started the game off slow, Golden State was able to mount a comeback fueled by a huge 17-point second half performance from Jonathan Kuminga.

If it was the third year forward who provided the spark, then it was Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry who brought it home with his late game dagger to put the team up by four with nine seconds to go. Curry finished as the team’s leading scorer with 31 points along with five rebounds and one assist.

While the performances of the Warriors’ younger players were inspiring, it also highlights the struggles of the team’s veterans. Starters Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins shot a combined 6-of-25 from the field for a total of just 20 points. Draymond Green’s 10 points alongside Kevon Looney’s six points rounded out a poor scoring night from Golden State’s starters aside from Curry. These struggles have even caused some to question if head coach Steve Kerr needs to consider changes to his rotations.

What to watch for tonight:

Friday night marks Golden State’s fourth game against Oklahoma City this season. They are currently 1-2 against them and lost their most recent matchup on Nov. 18 by a score of 130-123.

The Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 40 of his team’s points that night, followed by his talented big man teammate, Chet Holmgren, who finished with 36 points. After the game, Gilgeous-Alexander turned to social media for a very interesting post.

Curry is known to peruse social media for motivation in the past, so it should be interesting to see how he responds tonight.

It should be a fun game. Enjoy the basketball Dub Nation. GO WARRIORS!!!
