Duke Off To The Birmingham Bowl
Where they’ll face Troy
With the bowl announcements out of the way and Florida State’s rage resounding across the Internet after being left out of the playoffs perhaps having died down a small bit, the various other bowl games have generally been sorted out and that includes Duke.
The Blue Devils are off to the Birmingham Bowl where they will play Troy.
Duke and Troy have tangled a couple of times, most recently in 2014. The Blue Devils won that game, 34-17.
This year, the Blue Devils will come in at 6-6 after a hot start was blunted by key injuries. Troy finished the regular season at 11-2.
Obviously Duke will be led by interim coach Trooper Taylor, who took over after Mike Elko departed for Texas A&M under cover of darkness.
The game will be on December 23rd at noon.
Duke was originally set to play in the Gasparilla Bowl against UCF, but since those teams played last year in the Military Bowl, the Blue Devils were moved to the Birmingham Bowl.
