Kerr Kriisa will stay at West Virginia. What’s the latest on their other transfers?

Two days after ZAGSBLOG broke the news that Josh Eilert would be named head coach at West Virginia, his elevation is paying immediate dividends.

Arizona transfer Kerr Kriisa announced he will withdraw from the Portal and remain at West Virginia under interim coach Eilert. The 6-foot-3 junior from Estonia averaged 9.9 points and 5.1 assists last season in the Pac-12.

It’s possible Eilert could keep his other transfers, too, but that may not be known for a couple of days.

Tre Mitchell visited Kentucky this weekend and a source in his camp said there won’t be any decision on his future “for a couple of days.”

The 6-9 senior forward averaged 11.7 points and 5.5 rebounds last season.

Meantime, Joe Toussaint will visit Kansas State and Texas Tech this week but told ZAGSBLOG, “It’s a chance I come back” to West Virginia.

The Bronx native averaged 9.4 points and 2.6 assists last season.

West Virginia has one of the top transfer classes in the nation and Eilert could be positioned for a Rodney Terry-type run if he can keep his team together.

Terry was named interim head coach after Chris Beard was suspended last season following a domestic assault charge, and led Texas to the Big 1 Tournament title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
