WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University sophomore forward Taylor Jackson has reeled in her third KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week nod this season and sixth overall for her career, the league office announced today (Dec. 19).

In a key KCAC defensive struggle, there was no one better then Jackson to spark the victory last Tuesday evening (Dec. 13) over Tabor College.

Jackson corralled six defensive rebounds along with three blocks and a pair of steals in a massive conference win for the Falcons over the Bluejays inside the Garvey Center.

A Houston, Texas native, Jackson is currently tops in the KCAC in blocks (2.9 bpg) and second in rebounds (8.9 rpg).

"In the win against Tabor where points were hard to come by, Taylor's defensive presence was huge," said Friends women's basketball head coach Dean Jaderston. "Players hesitate to finish at the rim, and so she often forces an extra pass. Our perimeter defense can get even more aggressive because they know she's behind them."

Last season's KCAC Freshman of the Year, Jackson is also averaging double-figure points with 10.5 ppg this season.

Jackson and the Falcons are currently off for the Christmas break and will resume action on Dec. 31 at College of the Ozarks in Branson, Mo. The next KCAC matchup for Friends will be Jan. 4 at York University.
