I have to summarize by saying that the Flyers have been hard to watch for the last 5 games. I saw only parts of the games in the Bahamas, mercifully.
Now that our foremost guards are hurt, we are forced into a big line-up and you could see that we really struggle with quicker smaller players on defense. Our offense is still disjointed. However, it might be a good thing that our wings and post players are forced to move the ball better rather than sitting back and expecting guards to do everything. I say that from a team development standpoint because I feel like those guys need to be more active on offense with our without our guards.
We have no confidence shooting the ball from the arc. We struggle at the foul line. Brea will come around.
Deuce and Camara are turning into our bread and butter. Camara is really playing well. But we are way too one-dimensional. We need some outside threats to start to come through. We need more movement on offense.
Mike is going to be a tremendous player for us. But he is learning on the job now. He will develop a ton over the course of the year.
We are not good enough to beat good teams right now. We are sketchy on the road against middling or poor teams, IMO. Not sure how much better we can be without our guards, but I am not completely ruling out some decent development. We will struggle mightily against pressure defense teams.
I did see a few glimmers of hope on offense with us playing inside out at least once and nailing a 3 pointer. A few other times, we hit guys wide open in the corner. Most of the year, I feel like we have not done a good job of hunting for the open man or even moving to create an open man.
