[Women's Soccer] SU Plays No. 4 OIT to 0-0 Draw

Simpson continued its strong start to the 2022 campaign with an impressive showing against the No. 4-ranked team in the NAIA, Oregon Tech.  The Red Hawks, now 2-1-1 in their first four matches, played the Hustlin' Owls to a scoreless draw last Wednesday.  Both teams were able to get decent chances inside the box, with SU putting seven shots on goal while limiting OIT to six.  Haylee Ward, Chloe Tague, and Carolina Oropeza were the most dangerous Red Hawks in attack this afternoon. Ward was able to get three shots on goal, Tague with two on target, and Oropeza had one.  Goalkeepers Kiah Gridley and Brianna Whitehurst split the duties in the Red Hawks' third consecutive clean sheet to begin the season as the defense has not allowed a goal in 270 minutes of action.  SU suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, a 2-1 setback to visting College of Idaho.
