NBA Trade Rumors: Utah's Overhaul Off-Season

0 117

It's time for another episode of our Trade Rumor Rankings. Here, we rate the top five players who appeared on our Trade page in the previous week.

Recently, there’s been some trade rumours concerning some NBA players. Players of the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz are prominent features. That’s surprising because neither team is in contention for the NBA championship in 2021-22.

You can find out the odds to these NBA games at FanDuel.

Let's get to it!

D'Angelo Russell (Minnesota)

D'Angelo Russell had a terrible postseason, averaging only 12.0 points on shooting splits and even being taken out of the game late in Game 6 with the season on the line.

Russell was also displeased with his benching, though he claimed he didn't want to make a big issue out of it.

Russell is entering the final year of his contract, which will earn him $31.4 million per season, ranking him the NBA's 33rd highest-paid player. With that much cash, finding a new club for such a floor general may be challenging.

Russell Westbrook (LA Lakers)

Russell Westbrook, the former NBA MVP is one of the most likely big names to be transferred this summer.

Westbrook once liked a comment on his post demanding that he find a new home for the next campaign, adding to the tension. Also, he took down all photos of him wearing a Lakers jersey on his Instagram account.

Whichever way it goes for the player, it's certain that he won't be wearing the coveted Lakers jersey.

Jordan Clarkson (Utah)

After one more early postseason loss, Utah Jazz may be in for some changes. It's unclear whether this is a major overhaul or simply a reshuffle, but one thing is certain: the team will be altered next season.

The former Man of the Year Jordan Clarkson could be one of those changes. He was recently asked about his future in Utah, and he claimed he had no idea what the offseason holds for him.

Clarkson's outstanding performance in the playoffs together with his attractive pay might make him a coveted commodity.

Rudy Gobert (Utah)

This week, the NBA media was rocked by a report claiming that Rudy Gobert has a him-or-me mentality towards star teammate Donovan Mitchell for next season, demanding that one of them be dealt.

Despite the fact that the source wasn’t considered reputable, it created a commotion. Regardless, Utah's dismal season may be enough to force one of the two stars to leave.

The Golden State Warriors, on the other hand, might be interested in Gobert if he is put on the market.

To draw any conclusions, we'll have to wait for Gobert and Utah's departure meeting. Is it possible that Utah will select either Gobert or Mitchell during the offseason? We'll find out as soon as possible.

Donovan Mitchell (Utah)

There's a lot of talk about Mitchell these days.

To begin, Jones stated that the Jazz intend to build around Mitchell, implying that they will not embark on a full rebuild. Meanwhile, opposing clubs are preparing for Mitchell's departure from Utah, according to MacMahon.

Finally, Marc Berman noted that if Mitchell requests a trade, the Miami Heat may be a potential destination.

With so much going on, it's safe to assume Mitchell and the Jazz are dealing with something behind the scenes.

That means we'll have to wait until the next few months to see who goes, whether it's Gobert or Mitchell.
