[Men's Volleyball] Men's Volleyball Conference Honors Released

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - (Complete Honors) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released its conference honors for men's volleyball in conjunction with the conference tournament. 

Outside hitter Jeff Lam of Lourdes was named Player of the Year for the third time in his career. The senior notched 374kills (4.79 per set), had 188 digs, and 47 blocks in leading the Gray Wolves to a 10-4 league record.

Indiana Tech head coach Kyle Shondell repeated as Coach of the Year by a vote of his colleagues after leading the Warriors to a 13-1 WHAC record and the regular-season conference title. Mount Vernon Nazarene head coach Doug Sherer was once again voted as the Champions of Character Coach for his commitment to the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

Siena Heights picked up the remaining individual awards. Joudiel Poveymirow repeated as the Libero of the Year with 275 digs for a 3.72 set average and added 47 assists. Zak Tucker dished up 9.96 assists per set for Setter of the Year along with 114 digs and 13 service aces. Ramon Matos was awarded Newcomer of the Year with 339 kills, 58 blocks, and 26 service aces.

First Team All-Conference, Second Team All-Conference, and All-Freshman Team were awarded. All-Academic (juniors or above in academic standing with 3.25 cumulative GPA and at nominating school for one full year) and Champions of Character Team (one player from each school who best exemplifies the five core character values) were also announced.
