Siena relayed the news this afternoon. McGonagle died of complications from COVID-19, according to media outlets in Rhode Island, where she lived.
"Meg was one of those kids that was great to have on a team," said former Siena head coach Gina Castelli, who coached McGonagle from 1998 to 2002. "She was warm-hearted, loved the game. She was a great teammate, kind. She was just a really beautiful kid. She had all the things you love about people. That was Meg. Her family was the same. Her parents were great. Just a really good, good kid."
