[Men's Soccer] PUC Wins Two in a Row
Pacific Union's men's soccer team capped an impressive week for Pioneer athletics by topping NCAA DII Academy of Art 3-2 in a Sunday afternoon road match. The win was the second in a row, improving their season mark to 2-1, and what makes the start so impressive is the fact that since the program's inception in 2005, only two teams won more than two matches the entire season. In 2008 the team went 3-10-2 and then followed that up with a program-best 9-3-1 record the following year. Since 2009, PUC has won a total of six matches. But men's soccer is not the only Pioneer program off to its best start ever. The women's soccer team, in its inaugural campaign, also improved to 2-1 while the women's volleyball team streaked to a 5-1 mark with an East Coast tour.
