[Softball] Conference Honors for Softball Announced

SYLVANIA, Ohio - (COMPLETE HONORS) -  The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its All-Conference Team, All-Academic Team, All-Defensive, and Champions of Character Teams for the 2021 softball season. Kattie Popko of Madonna earned Player of the Year with a .525 batting average, five home runs and 31 RBI. Madisen Henry of Madonna repeated from 2019 as Pitcher of the Year as she threw 72 innings with a 2.04 ERA and 71 strikeouts. Aquinas freshman Courtney Hardin was named Newcomer of the Year with a .405 batting average and 28 RBI.

Aquinas head coach Brad Koch was voted as Coach of the Year after guiding the Saints to the conference championship.  Hailey Cavanage of Concordia was votes as the Champions of Character Coach for her commitment to developing character through sport.

Members of the All-AcademicTeam must be a junior or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA while those on the Champions of Character Team best represent the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. The All-Defensive Team honors one player in each position for her defensive achievements.
