Cavs to sign Jeremiah Martin to two-way contract

Martin has spent this season playing in the G League.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are planning on signing guard Jeremiah Martin to a two-way contract, according to The Athletic.

Martin has played nine NBA games in his career, all of them coming with the Brooklyn Nets last season and averaged 7.1 points and a pair of assists per game. This season, Martin hasn’t appeared in an NBA game but did play in 15 games during the NBA G League Bubble for the Long Island Nets. During that run, he averaged 18.5 points and 5.1 assists per game. Prior to his NBA experience, he spent four years at the University of Memphis and was named to All-AAC in 2018-19.

The Martin signing figures to be a bit of a depth pick up for the Cavaliers. While the backcourt of Collin Sexton and Darius Garland has been playing arguably its best basketball, Martin is a guy that’s worth a look as a potential backup option in the future.
