Greatness rewarded.

Steph Curry is coming off a dominant week, and the face of the Golden State Warriors was rewarded for it. On Monday, the NBA announced that Curry had been named the Western Conference Player of the Week.

It’s pretty easy to see why Curry earned the distinction, as he averaged 43.8 points and 5.0 assists per game during the week, while shooting 54.5% on threes and helping the Dubs go 3-1. If you look up “greatness” in the dictionary, that’s the stat line that you’ll see (I think. Don’t quote me on that.).

It gives Curry 16 Player of the Week awards, which is more than three times as many as the next Warrior on the list (Tim Hardaway, with five). It’s also the second time this year that Curry has earned the distinction.

It’s probably safe to assume that Curry has the inside track to a Player of the Month award as well, as he’s currently averaging 39.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in April, while shooting 55.6% from the field and 49.2% from beyond the arc.

Turns out he’s really good. Who knew.
