[Women's Outdoor Track & Field] AQ's Alven Named NAIA Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (NAIA Release) - Jakarri Alven of Aquinas was named the NAIA Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week. The sophomore competed at the Warrior Opener where she recorded one first-place finish and one fourth-place finish. She placed first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.64. She now ranks No. 1 in the NAIA in the 400-meter dash, breaking a 14-year Aquinas record by over one second. Alven also was a member of the 4x100m relay team that placed fourth  with a time of 49.09.

She's the first from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) to win the award this season.
