0 69

Georgetown College athletics learned another Tiger legend has passed away. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts the College announces the death of Coach Bob Davis, '50 alum, long-time coach, physical education department chair and forever mentor for anyone in the Orange & Black.

An inaugural member of the Georgetown College Athletics Hall of Fame, Davis coached baseball, football and men's basketball. He's most notably remembered for his 20 years on the sidelines for basketball, setting the foundation of the current team that just went to an NAIA leading 30th straight national tournament and also an NAIA record 40 trips overall.

"I am so thankful to him as he embraced me as a young, inexperienced head coach and always had great advice for every situation, as well as some incredible stories from his career and life," said current GC men's basketball coach Chris Briggs. "He was an absolutely remarkable man, and we are all very fortunate to have had the opportunity to listen and learn from his experiences.

"I will always cherish the great memories of our conversations and time spent together."
