[Cross Country] DISTANCE RUNNING: ERAU, UCM Hit Full Stride in First Meets of 2021
The two latest distance events involving California Pacific Conference teams provided a glimpse of the standard bearers and the newcomers ready to challenge right away. At Westmont's Track & Field event in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Feb. 13, Embry-Riddle's Ariana Anderson led from start to finish in yet another impressive run in the 5,000 meter race. The Eagles junior sensation, a two-time Cal Pac cross country Runner of the Year who place 6th at last year's NAIA National Championship Meet, finished will ahead of the pack. Up the coast in San Rafael, Calif., UC Merced freshman Elizette Ysais won the Dominican Tri-Meet 6k, clocking 25:36 and became the first UCM runner to earn a first-place finish in her collegiate debut.
