[Men's Basketball] Late Rally Not Enough for Men's Basketball on Senior Night
DAYTON, Tenn. – After falling behind by as many as 19 points through the second half, it looked as though the visiting Milligan College Buffaloes (Tenn.) were going to certainly charge past the Bryan Lions men's basketball team on Wednesday night. Instead, the fans in Summers Gym were left on the edge of their seats when the Lions roared back to within five points with under four minutes left to play, 78-73. Despite the late rally by Bryan, Milligan survived the come-from-behind effort when the Lions struggled to connect on their looks and Buffaloes built onto their lead with success at the free-throw line. When the final buzzer sounded, it was Milligan who prevailed by nine, 85-76. The loss on Senior Night, the final regular-season contest for Bryan, moved their overall record to 13-15 and Appalachian Athletic Conference mark to an even 12-12. The Buffaloes improved to 17-11 overall and 14-9 in AAC play. With several teams at 12-11 in the standings with one game left to play, the Lions' hopes of post-season play now reside in the outcome of this weekend's games.
