[Competitive Dance] Hamre will follow sister's "footsteps" and dance at CSM

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary Dance Coach April Allen is excited to add another Hamre dancer to her squad. Katelyn Hamre signed her letter of intent to continue her education and dance career with the Flames.

"I am thrilled to have Katie join our dance family next season," Allen said. "Katie has been a staple at CSM dance events as her older sister Allie is a current CSM senior dancer.

"Katie comes to our team with a wealth of cheer background and will enhance our pom section. Her enthusiasm and natural talent was apparent at her audition and her competitive spirit shined through."

The daughter of Tom and Brenda Hamre is currently a senior at Bennington High School. The 5-7 dancer has participated in cheerleading, cross country and also briefly competed with soccer and track for the Badgers. Her favorite sports hero is Gabi Butler and outside of dance she also enjoys horseback riding, crafts and working out.

"I chose CSM because my sister went to CSM and she loved it and is doing very well," Hamre said. "So I wanted to follow in her footsteps."

Hamre plans to pursue a nursing degree at College of Saint Mary.
