Over 2.6 Million Fans Sign Petition To Update NBA Logo With Kobe Bryant

0 22

Kobe Bryant fans have come out in droves, with 2.6+ million people signing a Change.org petition that is asking the NBA to update it’s logo to reflect the late basketball legend.

The logo above was created by 16-year old Tyson Beck, and it’s taken on a life of it’s own, with players and celebrities helping to spread the word about this petition. The current NBA logo dates back to 1971 and features the silhouette of former Lakers Jerry West.

On his Instagram page, Tyson posted: “To me it would be a fitting and rightfully deserved tribute to make the change. Jerry West, who is the current logo, has previously stated it’s embarrassing that he is still the logo and wishes it would be changed.”

Seeing as how Kobe was the face of the NBA for so long (sorry LeBron), I think this would be a great way to remember Kobe while giving the NBA logo a much-needed update.

Here’s hoping that the NBA listens to its fans and give them what they want. Until then, keep spreading the word about the petition and getting those signatures!
