The second-year guard could be out a while after suffering a nasty injury.

Golden State Warriors wing Jacob Evans III has suffered a concussion and a broken nose, according to an injury update from the team, released on Thursday morning.

Evans left Tuesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks after suffering a vicious elbow to the face courtesy of Mavs big man Dwight Powell. Powell was leaping towards a lob pass from Luka Doncic, with Evans attempting to interfere, when Powell’s elbow cocked back into Evans’ face.

You can watch the injury here:

Evans was visibly shaken and woozy, and relied on help to get off the court. At the time, a concussion seemed all but guaranteed.

It’s been a second year full of bad luck for Evans, who looked good in the season opener before straining his groin in the first quarter of the third game of the year.

In all, Evans has played in just 21 of the Warriors 42 games, with 2 of those 21 being games he left early due to injury.

There’s currently no timetable for Evans’ return, as he is entering the league’s concussion protocol. When he does return, he’ll wear a protective mask for his broken nose.
