[Women's Soccer] Women's Soccer Bracket Released
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released the seeds and pairings for the 2019 Women's Soccer Tournament. The top eight teams in the 2019 final season standings qualify for the tournament with the seeding based on order of finish.
UNOH sits as the top seed for the third consecutive year after winning the league title with a perfect 11-0-0 record. The Racers have won three tournament titles with the last title coming in 2016 when they were the number 2 seed.
Aquinas hopes history repeats itself as the Saints are seeded second with a 10-1-0 WHAC record. It's the same seed they held last year when they became the fifth second seed to win the conference tournament.
Cornerstone and Siena Heights tied in the final standings with 8-3-0 conference records to force a tiebreaker to decide the higher seed. Cornerstone came out as the third seed and Siena Heights, who holds the most tournament championships with six, landed as the fourth seed.
Madonna sits at the fifth seed after finishing the season at 7-4-0 and holds the second-most tournament championships with four. Another tiebreaker was needed to set seeds as Lawrence Tech and Concordia came in tied in the final standings at 6-5-0. LTU was awarded the sixth seed with Concordia getting the seventh spot. Lourdes (4-7-0) rounded out the eight teams.
The first round is set for Nov. 6 with the winners advancing to the semifinals on Nov. 9. The championship is slated for Nov. 16 at the higher seed with the winner earning the league's second automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
