Duke Recruiting: Mark Williams Set To Announce

Friday is the day

Mark Williams, the 7-0 big man from Norfolk, is set to announce on Friday. We saw him standing near the basket Saturday (band side) along with Jalen Johnson and after a while figured he must have seen a natural spot for himself on the roster given Duke’s struggles inside.

Does that mean he’s set for Duke? No, not necessarily. It could be entirely coincidental or maybe he got to campus and found that another school was more appealing. It’s really hard to tell with kids his age. We can remember one coach who thought he had a kid wrapped up only to lose him at the last minute. When he asked why, the kid said his number was already retired and that was important to him. He didn’t want to wear a different one.

So who knows?
