[Men's Basketball] Brooks named to All-KCAC Men's Basketball Preseason Team
WICHITA – Kansas Wesleyan's James Brooks (SR/Frontenac, Kan.) has been placed on the Kansas Conference Preseason Men's Basketball Team.
Brooks, a senior guard from Frontenac, led the Coyotes and was seventh in the KCAC in scoring at 16.3 points per game. He led the conference in made 3-pointers with 94 and shot 40.5 percent from beyond the arc (94 of 232).
He also averaged 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.4 assists in his first season at KWU after transferring from Pratt Community College.
Brooks scored in double figures in 22 games last season and surpassed the 20-point mark 11 times. He scored 31 points against Sterling and a season-best 38 against Bethany.
He was named the KCAC's Newcomer of the Year and was a Second Team all-conference selection.
Brooks and the Coyotes open the 2019-20 season against Midland (Neb.) at 7 p.m. Saturday in Mabee Arena.
