Barrett won the battle but Reddish won the war

Former Duke stars RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish had their first NBA duel Wednesday night and Reddish’s Hawks came out the winners, beating the Knicks 100-94.

Both started and individually, Barrett probably had the better game with 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block. On the downside, he only shot 4-14, continuing a theme, but coach David Fizdale seems unconcerned: “He’s always engaged. He’s always trying to win. These are good learning lessons for him right now to go through that and he still made some plays.”

On Friday night, Zion Williamson and Barrett, great friends after their year at Duke, will square off for the first time as professionals. That’s going to be fun.
